As a looking glass reflects the face,

so the eyes reflect the soul.

A smile can mimic happiness,

but the eyes display the toll,

of a life lived with happiness

or perhaps one with sorrow.

The soul seeps through the windows of the heart

and provides a glimpse of the morrow.

Why be downcast my soul,

isn’t that what the bible ponders?

While life is a series of plans and desires,

the mind simply cannot conjure

what lies ahead, what plans are in store,

for no earthly mind can comprehend

what God has in store for those who wait,

for those who call Him friend.

Perhaps the day is dark as night

or your heart as cold as ice.

No earthly prize can take His place,

no wealth or gem suffice.

For the measure of success does not depend

on fame or earthly treasure.

The successful one is the one who loves,

for true love has no measure.

The here and now will someday pass,

a better Earth will be.

A world filled with peace that lasts,

a world of eternity

with harmony between man and beast;

beasts that were former foes,

where life is filled with no more pain,

no sorrows and no woes.

So trust in tomorrow and in His Word

for no Word of His will fail.

His timeline is not ours to choose,

but His plans will surely prevail.
