Fear not

A heart can have joy and laughter one day,

And the next be black as night.

How can one have such extremes inside,

It doesn’t seem quite right.

The heart and mind can be tricky at times,

It can feel like there’s no control.

One must let God be the guide,

Let Him lead you and soothe your soul.

Fear is a liar and monster in waiting,

It can steal one’s hope like a thief.

Fear is an opportunist of sorts,

Waiting to pounce upon one’s grief.

Fear hides in the darkest places,

Waiting to break one to their core.

It wants you to let your guard down,

So it can break you even more.

The antidote to fear is joy and confidence,

But it takes patience and trust in the One.

Give God the glory even when it hurts,

Because He gave you his only son.
