Today we celebrate the independence of the United States from Great Britain. Although the vote for the legal separation of the 13 colonies took place on July 2nd, the declaration of Independance was adopted on July 4th.
America is a place of freedom and opportunity. Sometimes it is filled with unrest and divisiveness. Other times it is a place where tragedies occur. It is not the same country it was in 1776, nor will it be the same place in another 200+ years. However, it is our land, and we should celebrate, have gratitude, and respect the land and laws for the future generation.
Today, have a cookout, eat a bomb-pop, fly the flag, throw water balloons, watch a parade, eat a big burger, enjoy baked beans and coleslaw, wear red, white, and blue, and enjoy the day. Keep your animals safe if you live near areas with fireworks. Stay up late, read a book, watch baseball, eat a hot dog, and do whatever you can to be near family and friends.

Hope everyone stays safe. We’re so fortunate to celebrate this holiday in America
