Restless, like a butterfly waiting to escape the cocoon

Restless like the astronaut waiting to land on the moon.

Restless, like a horse behind the stall before a race.

Restless like a marathon runner trying hard to keep the pace.

Restless, like the rooster trying to coax out the sun.

Restless like the hurdle jumper anticipating the gun.

Restless means one is anxious, agitated, or bored.

Perhaps in a state of unease and feeling discord.

Why feel restless when I’m blessed in countless ways,

Why am I always waiting for what’s next or counting down days?

Sometimes it’s in the forefront of my mind; God has a plan for me

I hear it in a message, in a song, or feel the harmony.

I can almost hear Him say, sit back, relax, and wait

Other times I feel the need to act; I wonder if you can relate.

Restless, like I need to visit my past and make it right

Restless, but He tells me “Child I’ve already won the fight”.

Restless, like my salvation is based on the roll of the dice

But he tells me again “My child, I’ve already paid the price”.
